Exploring Savannah In 24 Hours

Last Saturday I embarked on a last minute road/day trip to Savannah, GA with a dear friend. As a first time road-tripper, one thing I can say is that although unplanned events are nice, preparation is definitely key lol. Making a list of places to see worked out perfectly and to our advantage.

We started our journey with brunch at Huey's, a New Orleans cuisine restaurant on the infamous River St. The shrimp and grits & beignets there were actually...no...literally to die for. I would definitely recommend this spot for my fellow foodies. River St. was mostly filled with tons of souvenir shops and is home to the Savannah Bee Company, where we took advantage of the free honey tasting. We also made our way through Broughton St. which is filled with shops like J. Crew, Banana Republic, and Loft and was packed with tourists looking for those post-christmas sales (myself included lol).

About 5-10 minutes away from Downtown Savannah is the SCAD Art Museum. The collections there were lovely and surprisingly we didn't have to sneak to take photos in the galleries. I captured some amazing shots which I'll be posting as a one part photo series in my next post!

Overall amazing time in Savannah despite the heavy fog (which didn't stop us from going to Tybee Beach before we left)!
